Vacuum Plasma Nitriding

Vacuum Plasma Nitriding

Vacuum plasma nitriding (VPN) is a surface treatment technology that uses high-frequency current or microwaves to excite gases (e.g., nitrogen and hydrogen) into plasma. The plasma forms a nitride layer on the part surface and penetrates the metal matrix, creating a wear-resistant nitrided layer. This process enhances surface hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and fatigue strength.

WELLTECH currently offers vacuum plasma nitriding for nickel-based high-temperature alloy Inconel 718, achieving:

Surface hardness: ≥ 60 HRC
Effective nitrided layer thickness: ≥ 10 μm
